Perl 5.8.1 (final) came out yesterday (ftp://ftp.cpan.org/pub/CPAN/src/5.0/).  The perl-5.8.1_rc4 ebuild will work, but the sockatmark-should-__THROW patch should be removed as perl.h now contains the needed change (albeit a little more portably than the gentoo patch did it).

Also, libperl-5.8.1 compiles perfectly well with just the _rc ebuild renamed.
