Description Francisco León 2002-05-23 17:38:14 UTC
Currently we show up "sh-2.05a" for a user and "bash-2.05a" for root in a x
terminal. This is so ugly, i have tried every method i know and listed on irc
to get this to fix, but there is no way.

I tried setting PS1 in .bashrc, .bash_profile or /etc/profile but neither seem
to do the trick

you need to start your terminal as a login terminal.

gnome-terminal --login
as an example.
