MC has a new version 4.7.0-pre4 at http://www.midnight-commander.org/downloads Also, http://www.midnight-commander.org/ticket/1669 points to an upstream fix http://www.midnight-commander.org/changeset/e5abe33fc6485663807e3884c717dde51fa3e51b that might be desirable as a patch to the current gentoo version. The current version appears to have the bug cited in the upstream support ticket. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. mcedit any file 2. Type a tab 3. Enter Actual Results: No autoindent Expected Results: Autoindent Upstream apparently committed a fix for this in response to a support ticket 2 months ago. Current gentoo version seems to be a victim of this, and also may need a version bump.
Silly me. Don't report two issues in one bug report.
"Latest released version: 4.7.0-pre4." [ebuild R ] app-misc/mc-4.7.0_pre4 USE="X edit gpm nls -samba -slang" 0 kB It's been in Portage about 2 months now. I'm not sure what you are requesting.
It seems that version is masked by ~x86. Which strangely enough about 2 hours before seeing your post I figured I should have checked. Lemme tinker with package.keywords and I'll test it out. If it passes the test I'll change this to stablereq.
Test passed. I guess this is now a request to remove the ~x86 keyword from the pre4 version.
Particularly since the new version has a bugfix.
archs, please test and mark app-misc/mc-4.7.0_pre4 stable it has been in ~testing for almost two months, most changes are bug fixes.
Im gonna cancel this stabilization request, 4.7.0 final was released with more bug fixes, I'll do some testing then request that version to be stabilized, no need to add extra work for archs :)
