I'm running gentoo on a Dell XT2 tablet pc (has a n-trig digitizer). After the recent version bump of xorg-server-1.6.3.901-r2 to xorg-server-1.6.5-r1 and the adjacent update of x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.2.5 to x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.3.1, the touch screen stopped working (at least in gnome, didnt try other environments). At first i suspected the xorg-server, I degraded both xorg-server and evdev to previous versions, touchscreen was working. Going back to xorg-server-1.6.5-r1 didnt cause problems but x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.3.1 did. Interesting bits: - cat /dev/hidraw0 and cat /dev/input/mouse2 are reacting to the touchscreen - cat /dev/input/mice reacts to all, touschsreen, trackpoint and touchpad... - i dont use a xorg.conf, everyhting worked out of box for me. generating a xorg.conf didn't change anything. but when I actually use the touchscreen in gnome, nothing happens. Please let me know how I can dig into this further to provide more feedback. Reproducible: Always
Could you try 2.3.2 (not yet in the tree, but renamed ebuild works) ?
2.3.2 works! should i submit a new bug to get 2.3.2 into tree or will this one suffice?
This one is enough.
2.3.2 is in main tree, so i am closing this as fixed i guess. Reopen if you feel otherwise.
