Although wpa_supplicant is ready to handle the Intel 5100 AGN wireless adapter, the firmware is missing from the /lib/firmware directory. Copying the firmware from another machine gets everything working, but is there a reason the firmware was not installed in the first place? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot the install CD (I used the amd64 minimal ISO) 2. attempt to run ifconfig wlan0 3. see the errors about missing firmware Actual Results: interface fails to come up Expected Results: interface should come up
Perhaps because nobody has ever requested it? Does the license allow for restribution?
