Description Anton Gubarkov 2009-12-11 06:39:35 UTC
This requirement is in the vmware server ebuild. However portage allows a subsequent update to vmware-modules-1.0.0.25

The package.keywords has
app-emulation/vmware-modules ~amd64
app-emulation/vmware-server ~amd64

virtual machines fail to start complaining about version of vmmon module mismatch.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. unmask vmware-server and vmware-modules for ~amd64
2. build vmware-server
3. emerge -upv world

Actual Results:
vmware-modules gets updated to 1.0.0.25

Expected Results:
vmware-modules should stay at 1.0.0.24 as long as vmware-server-2.0.2 is installed.

Do you have app-emulation/vmware-modules in your world?
If so delete it and try again.

Thanks.

That fixed it for me.
