Would it be possible to have this added to the portage ebuilds?  I'll post an ammended version later this evening if there isn't one when I get back... :-)

Fixed in portage - thanks for the report.

Note that I didn't do a revision bump on kdebase-3.1.4 since this is a relatively
minor fix.  Just re-emerge to fix it.

kdebase seems to not add a patch?  is this an oversight, or should I reopen?

it's in src_unpack():

        epatch ${FILESDIR}/focus-patch.diff
        epatch ${FILESDIR}/konq-crash-patch.diff

did you emerge sync first?

of course, let me check more in the morning, it's been a long week.
