Description Evan Teran 2009-12-10 16:56:58 UTC
This is a cosmetic issue. But for a long time, I've noticed that in my firefox the address bar and search bar are rendered slightly incorrectly. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if there is a solution.

Basically, both of these boxes have an icon to the left of the text/combo boxes. But the border of this icon is not correctly drawn. It is supposed to be solid and rounded, I've compared to other linux installs with firefox.

It is a bit hard to describe, so I'll attach a screen shot

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

screenshot of firefox mis-render
Comment 2 Jory A. Pratt gentoo-dev 2009-12-24 02:04:51 UTC
This is all based on theme. The default theme is rather ugly and lacking, please test with another theme, if the problem persists with another theme please feel free to reopen bug.

firefox correctly rendered
Comment 4 Evan Teran 2010-01-11 19:53:57 UTC
Today after installing the latest update to mozilla-firefox (3.5.7) it appears to be rendering correctly. However, I've seen it render correctly before in previous versions and then revert back to the incorrect behavior.

Note, this is *not* a theme issue. Both of my screenshots are using the same default linux theme, but the first one is mis-rendered. Since the latest is currently rendering correctly, I see no reason to re-open the bug, but if I see the mis-rendering again in the future with this version, I feel it shoudl be re-opened.
