the sony DSC-p52 is not reconized by the gentoo-sources kernel 
the URL provide a patch which is integrated in the 2.4.22 vanillia ( and work as
expected ) ... 
i do not knew if others gentoo kernels have the problem ...

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. plug a usb DSC-p52
2. dmesg say :
hub.c: new USB device 00:02.0-2, assigned address 3
usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x54c/0x10) is not claimed by any active driver.
Actual Results:  
 can't mount it ( should be /dev/sdax )

Expected Results:  
could be mounted using ide-scsi and usb storage on /dev/sda

the 2.4.20 branch of gentoo-sources is only getting bugfies from here on
out. this is more of a feature request
