I cannot reproduce this on my normal amd64 box. Maybe the hardened team has an idea for why this fails?
Do you have build.log laying around? The only breakage I have with the python2 tests on two (one arch, and one ~arch) hardened gentoo amd64 machine is the one when you have pyxml installed... I have currently no x86 hardend envs accessible so I cannot try ifthe same applies there.
Needs more info, closing until we get it.
This bug and other test failures occur when /etc/hosts prefers IPv6 address for localhost.
Is this still an issue? Feel free to reopen if it is and attach a log file file next time round.
Sorry, can't test this. The server's not active anymore.
