yahoo kept sending warnings to users that a software update is required
to be able to connect starting about September 24, 2003. AFAIK gaim
has been fixed upstreams, but even the version in unstable (0.68-r2)
has been unable to connect to yahoo as of September 25, 2003.

Well patch doesn't work anymore or .69. Gaim people looking into it.

according to the gaim changelog, gaim 0.70 fixes yahoo support and a few
other issues.

fixed with 0.70
