After emerging net-misc/networkmanager-0.8.0_pre20091105 (or any newer live version) all devices are 'unmanaged' (according to nm-tool), previous snapshot (20090824) worked.

Reproducible: Always

Did you double check that nm-applet's enable networking was checked in the right click context menu?

Please try the latest 0.8 snapshot (0.7.999) and reopen if the problem still exists, thanks.
