Description peng shao 2009-12-01 04:36:39 UTC
I tried several CD-R discs, and every time when I was trying to burn an ISO file into it with brasero-2.28.2 I ended up with an error message as in the attachment. It is very similar to the brasero-session.log

http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=182013

in bug 258981. I tried to disable libburn and this seemed to solve the problem. According to bug 286537 I learned that libburn was "buggy" , and I feel it looks like still unstable for brasero-2.28.2. I don't know if this USE is important or highly recommended but is there anyway to fix my problem if it is just a fixable bug, or should we disable libburn by default if it is really buggy and is not necessary in general? Thank you. :)

Reproducible: Always

Have you checked that, IN THIS CASE (not old bug), disabling libburn also fixes your problem? Have you tried with newer dev-libs/libburn versions?

I communicated with the developers of libburn and they confirm this bug as "cdrecord does not send a CLOSE TRACK/SESSION command at the end of the track but relies entirely on the effect of SYNCHRONIZE CACHE. " Currently this bug is harmless and they will fix it in the next release. Also they fix another bug which is related to my LG drive. The changeset can be found at

http://libburnia-project.org/changeset/2931

along with the patches. It looks like the next release is coming up soon.
Thanks for any concern. :p
