I just updated (after some headaches) to lvm2-2.0.2.51-r1. After the update part of the message says: "Rebuild your genkernel initramfs if you are using lvm" I am using lvm, and I don't know what to do. I don't use genkernel. Can someone provide the details on what people who don't use genkernel need to do? I'm too scared to reboot. Actually, I'm doubly scared as I also updated my udev and it informs me that I need a kernel upgrade. So I'll upgrade the kernel, but can't risk rebooting till this gets resolved. Until then perhaps udev will not work...? Unless it's to become Gentoo policy that all users are required to use genkernel, I suggest the post_install message be amended. I saw some forum posts giving instructions on what to do if you don't use genkernel (can't find them now). I have big changes coming up, because I also have to upgrade the kernel before I reboot. Most of my data is under LVM, so I just want to make sure things go smoothly.
