Hi, 
Feature request:  
Please add the ability to etc-update to keep a minimum of 1 backup copy (somewhere) 
of any config file that it modifies, interactively merges, or overwrites.  This would aid 
recoverability if we clobber a file accidentally or merge it improperly.   
 
I'm sure the initial response will be, back them up manually.  This gets pretty old when 
doing multiple systems.
