XTRS is an open, free and portable emulator of the radioshack trs80 machines of the early 80's. Included with the distribution, are an opensource version of a model 4p rom, and the freeware ls-dos 6.3 distrubition for the trs80 series so no copyright issues are in question, the emulation can however be told to use actual rom images if they are legally available to our end-users. xtrs-4.0.9.patch will update the source code to use the opensource rom by default, and patches the makefile.local to support the gentoo installation standards ${D} prefix, force the use of the gcc compiler and remove some bloatware Bottom line, this is an out of the box installation, xtrs is X11 based, with additional depenancies on ncurses and readline (as defined in the .ebuild) just type xtrs in an xconsle and enjoy. I have added this script to app-emulation, in accordance with current standards. Phillip L (AITD)
Created attachment 1101 [details] xtrs-4.9.0.ebuild (new submittion, app-emulation)
Created attachment 1102 [details] /xtrs/files/xtrs-4.9.0.patch (patches to make gentoo build sane) the .ebuild script looks for this patch in /usr/portage/app-emulation/xtrs and patches a virgin tree accordingly, this patch is required to modify some compiletime options and paths not accessable through $prefix's and to force runtime options that allow opensource roms/dos images to run as default.
I'm adding this ebuild to portage. One question: are you sure about your LICENSE line, which says GPL or LGPL? Perhaps you meant that part of it is GPL and part LGPLG, and then we should have LICENSE="GPL LGPL" (space-separated for and). Just making sure because I haven't been able to find any license information in either the source or the website xecept a mention in the changelog about the gpl. No sign of the lgpl though.
Closing.
