The same results for sys-libs/glibc-2.11 and sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.30-r1
see if rebooting your system fixes things. or try upgrading your kernel. 2.6.22 is pretty old and way beyond stable. if you're getting the error from `emerge sys-kernel/linux-headers`, let's use those build logs as it's a lot smaller than sys-libs/glibc.
(In reply to comment #5) Rebooting doesn't fix that. I can't upgrade my kernel due to dump mikrotik rb1000 hardware. I have 2.6.22.14 kernel with mikrotik patches, it works on rb1000. If this bug related to my old kernel - please close this bug. `emerge sys-kernel/linux-headers` doesn't produce any errors.
see if building with sandbox makes a difference FEATURES=-sandbox you already have this glibc version installed, so it must have worked at some point. did you perhaps change kernel options ? does it always fail at the same place ? if you go into the build dir: /var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-2.9_p20081201-r2/work/build-default-powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu-nptl/ can you run simple things like: ./elf/ld.so.1 --library-path $PWD /bin/echo moo cow
Since we suspect that this is due to using an old kernel, I'm going to close the bug. Feel free to open it again if this isn't the case.
Hi, I've the same problem with a 2.6.31.6 kernel and ppc arch. I tried with glibc 2.11 and 2.12 and upgrading binutils / gcc with no effects. I tried to repon the bug but the system doesn't allow me to do so.
