REQUEST a kde4 hdaps applet ebuild. REASONS: All programs that could satisfy the need for displaying the current hdaps-disk status are KDE3 only (or other desktops, like Gnome): - app-laptop/khdapsmon-0.1.2 (masked by: package.mask) /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask: # Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> (06 Nov 2009) # Cleaning out packages with KDE3 dependencies. # Masked for removal in 30 days. - app-laptop/khdapsmonitor-0.1-r1 (masked by: package.mask) /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask: # Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> (06 Nov 2009) # Cleaning out packages with KDE3 dependencies. # Masked for removal in 30 days. NOTES: When it comes to ThinkPad specific stuff, the ThinkWiki is a good place to start looking for it: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/HDAPS#GUI_monitoring
Please keep (see also: bug #254322) app-laptop/khdapsmonitor around until app-laptop/kde4-hdaps-applet (or any other name for it) is available. khdapsmontor is working well in KDE 4.3.2
A possible replacement is the KDE 4.x plasmoid "Applet HDAPS" found here: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Applet+HDAPS?content=78387
HDAPS monitor is even newer than Applet HDAPS: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/HDAPS+monitor?content=103481
kde-misc/hdaps_monitor in portage, the another one is for KDE 4.2 and doesn't build anymore.
