Please attach unified diffs (diff -u) when you did changes to an ebuild. That would be much more handy for our devs.

glibc-2.8 is required for libusb-1.0.5, because TFD_NONBLOCK is necessary (libusb doesn't compile without it).

please file a bug at libusb.org with the complete error message and config.log .. the configure file has logic to only attempt to compile timerfd support if the glibc version is new enough
