le sigh, fixed in ubuntu but not upstream!??!

A good explanation here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/314928

Remi, Can I assist you in getting this resolved upstream? I'd prefer to not get involved upstream myself but have no problem helping you.

Scratch that, patch seen here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/28453154/122_dont_fixup_mtrrs_in_gem_config.patch doesn't seem to preserve MTRRs after xorg restart. Initial boot is fine.

Original:
reg00: base=0x000000000 ( 0MB), size= 1024MB, count=1: write-back
reg01: base=0x03f500000 ( 1013MB), size= 1MB, count=1: uncachable
reg02: base=0x03f600000 ( 1014MB), size= 2MB, count=1: uncachable
reg03: base=0x03f800000 ( 1016MB), size= 8MB, count=1: uncachable
reg04: base=0x040000000 ( 1024MB), size= 256MB, count=1: write-combining
after xorg restart:
reg00: base=0x000000000 ( 0MB), size= 1024MB, count=1: write-back
reg01: base=0x03f500000 ( 1013MB), size= 1MB, count=1: uncachable
reg02: base=0x03f600000 ( 1014MB), size= 2MB, count=1: uncachable
reg03: base=0x03f800000 ( 1016MB), size= 8MB, count=1: uncachable

Temp workaround: reboot computer if need to restart xorg. =(

Upstream fd.o bug is closed INVALID... I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here.

Thanks
