>>> Source prepared.

Seems to work fine with the official package manager.
Comment 3 Elias Pipping 2009-11-14 17:52:23 UTC
The error is in

	sed -i -e "/cc-config.sh/s/\$(C_ARCH:%64=%) \$(CCOM_DEF)/${tcCC} ${tcCC}/" \
		rules1.top || die "sed rules1.top failed"

since sed complains about a modifier it doesn't know, one of the variables probably contains a slash. looking at toolchain-funcs.eclass, tc-getCC calls tc-getPROG which uses type -p to get the path to your compiler. since that path contains a slash, the sed command ends up broken.

Using another separator, e.g. s:...:...: should fix this.

exactly how would i go about using another separator?
thanks

tc-getPROG() contains:

    [[ -n ${search} ]] && prog=${search##*/}

    export ${var}=${prog}
    echo "${!var}"

So all slashes are removed.

[01:00:30][omar] ~ $ export ${var}=${prog}
-bash: export: `=': not a valid identifier

and then the final command doesn't output anything

In this case ${var} has value "CC".

	if [[ -n ${!var} ]] ; then

		return 0
	fi

Comes before that. Maybe CC is set for some reason.

Reopen to assign bug.
Comment 10 Daniel Pielmeier gentoo-dev 2009-11-14 19:14:32 UTC
I have committed an update which uses a different separator. Please wait until the changes have propagated to the mirrors and try again.

CXX:                   /usr/lib/ccache/bin/g++ 4.4.2

So that seems to me that CXX is set to that value and hence contains the slash.
Comment 12 Daniel Pielmeier gentoo-dev 2009-11-17 18:54:08 UTC
I assume this bug is fixed. Please reopen if there are still problems.
