Dear ppc64 team, as we discussed it on IRC with JoseJX, please take a look at usage of -mminimal-toc across Qt ebuilds. Currently, as a safety measure and for consistency, we apply that flag on all Qt ebuilds (bug 261632). Since it's reported to affect performance, please investigate whether it's safe to enforce it only on those ebuilds that require it to compile correctly. Thanks a lot!
ping there, Bugzilla failed to send the bug report :)
Amarok is failing with this too
There is also bug 308903 which shows a few more KDE4 packages requiring it.
ping again.
there is a fix for all of this in gcc-4.7. Let me see if it made gcc-4.6

gcc-4.7.3 is stable on ppc64 now... can someone confirm this is no longer an issue with that (or a later) version? On qt side, should we stop adding -mminimal-toc on ppc64 if the active gcc is new enough?
This only affects Qt 4 which we're not going to spend any more time on.
