Either, you should upgrade libtool to 2.2, or libtool macros need to be removed before running eautoreconf.
libtool 2.2 is already stable, please upgrade your _entire_ system with : emerge -DuNa world Thanks
x11-libs/libXt-1.0.7 does not have the problem. I am updating as much as I can. As I could see I have: sys-devel/libtool: 2.2.6a So what's the culprit?
No idea, feel free to help us find out. Thanks
Please tar.bz2 up the entire build dir (/var/tmp/portage/...) and attach it here, I'll take a look. Thanks
No, it looks like macro was updated: libtool is created at the end of configure. So, more likely, ltmain.sh was not updated.
Created attachment 210037 [details] libXt-1.0.7-r1.tar.bz2 I decided to re-install that machine completely so hurry up if you want me to test something soon. ;)
Created attachment 210038 [details] libXt-1.0.7-r1.tar.bz2 Sorry, that was a cancelled build attempt. Here is a new try.

Looks like a multilib issue, can't reproduce on a non-multilib system. @base-system, what say you? Thanks
i dont think it's a multilib issue at all. sounds more like user had a script named `sed` at /usr/lib64/portage/bin/ebuild-helpers/sed when libtool was emerged, but has been removed since. /usr/lib64/portage/bin/ebuild-helpers/3/ is also suspicious looking re-emerge libtool

I am rather convinced this was not my fault. Are you able to guess from the "sys-devel/libtool: 2.2.6a" that I had a recent re-install of libtool? I was trying like crazy to upgrade the machine hoping it will stop crashing. I tried to pursue that during a month or more. I am unable to provide more info, sorry. However, tell me how I could re-emerge any other ebuilds which contain patches. I do not believe this was the only package which was -r[1-9] broken. I just do not believe but thats all I can say.
Nothing we can do then. Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce later on. Thanks
