app-text/active-dvi-1.7.3-r1 failed to render Encapsulated Post Script images contaied in viewed DVI document. When you try to view page contained eps image active-dvi turn into freeze. The problem discussed here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/advi/+bug/156642 but bug still exists. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open DVI file which should contains Encapsulated Post Script (eps) images inside. Command line can be like: advi example.dvi 2. View document page by page until you find one which contains eps image. 3. Bingo! Now you should have a deadlock. I made a patch which solves that problem. Please, add it to portage tree. This bug is very old and annoying, especially for emacs+latex users: it's make whizzytex-mode + active-dvi pair practically unusable.
