There are OpenSuse patches from Lubos Lunak that should integrate firefox into KDE4. This includes mimetype associations, dialog boxes and other features. Patches for xulrunner and firefox are available at http://gitorious.org/firefox-kde-opensuse. See: http://www.kdedevelopers.org/node/4099 http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/FirefoxIntegration Gentoo forum thread: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=6044912 Reproducible: Always

Needless to say, a USE flag that could enable KDE integration would be equally desirable with Icecat at al. Firefox forks.

Until a bug report is opened and a proper diff is made to apply to mozilla upstream so we do not have to continuesly patch each revision bump, I will not re-enable support for qt4, qt4 support is being worked on as time permits upstream. If you would like to see this in gentoo please take the time to create a proper patch based off trunk for mozilla upstream and open a bug there. Once the patch is reviewed upstream I will have no problem adding it to the patchset. Until then this will be completed at a later time.
Created attachment 315429 [details, diff] www-client/firefox patch this patch adds a kde use flag which adds kde-misc/kmozillahelper as dependency (nedded for kde's file dialog) and applies opensuse patches for kde integration (borrowed from chakra).
Created attachment 315431 [details] kde-misc/kmozillahelper ebuild again, the package is from chakra.
