java@gentoo.org recently got a mail: To whom it may concern: I recently rebuilt my system toolchain after the Gnome 2.26 update caused me some headaches. After the compilations completed I looked at the logs to see if there were any issues. I found one. According to your guide located online within the Gentoo documentation, I set my system to compile Java code using ecj-3.1 then jikes then javac. However, my system couldn't find ecj-3.1 because it doesn't exist on my system let alone in portage. This is because it has been updated a bit. The latest stable release is ecj-3.4, at least for my arch - amd64. My question is: do I set my system to compile using ecj-3.4 within /etc/java-config-2/build/compiliers.conf or is there some other way that is preferred? What ever the answer is, you should consider updating your guide. Thank you for your time and help. Patrick Green Let's replace 3.1 with X.Y in the guide for example.
Thanks for reporting; fixed in CVS. Stripped out version numbering for ECJ.
