Description Trenton D. Adams 2009-11-02 01:03:05 UTC
I have noticed that my up arrow and right arrow auto-repeat work fine, but not my left and down arrows.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. upgrade to evdev 2.2.5 (2.2.x I believe really)
2. auto repeat does not work on some keys
3. downgrade to evdev 2.1.3
4. auto repeat is working again

I recall this happening once before, and I think it was the upgrade to 2.2.x that did it last time as well. Of particular interest is the log of installations of evdev. I recall noticing the problem, attempting to re-merge it, and then downgrading. Then later on it was tried again, and failed, and now it happened one last time.

I have created a package.mask to get around it...
>x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.1.3

My system works fine now.

As you've mentioned those specific keys,
I suspect it's a configuration problem.

While bugzilla is NOT a support forum,
you can attach your xorg log and post
your input setting (real settings, not what you think
they are - check your hal settings straight from the deamon
and see, if your desktop environment is overriding them).
Comment 3 David 2009-11-13 23:41:20 UTC
Hi have the same problem.
Comment 4 Mattia Gheda 2009-12-01 13:22:19 UTC
I have the same problem and I've solved reverting to =x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.1.3

so I really think this is a bug.. otherwise could you explain why this is happening?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. upgrade to evdev 2.2.5 (2.2.x I believe really)
2. auto repeat does not work on some keys
3. downgrade to evdev 2.1.3
4. auto repeat is working again
