Description Martin Ehmsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-19 09:43:35 UTC
kdemultimedia-3.1.4-r1 fails to compile with the following error:

Good - your configure finished. Start make now

cd . && \
  /bin/sh
/var/tmp/portage/kdemultimedia-3.1.4-r1/work/kdemultimedia-3.1.4/admin/missing
--run automake-1.7 --foreign  Makefile
configure.in:39: version mismatch. This is Automake 1.7.5,
configure.in:39: but the definition used by this AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE
configure.in:39: comes from Automake 1.7.2. You should recreate
configure.in:39: aclocal.m4 with aclocal and run automake again.
make: *** [Makefile.in] Error 1

!!! ERROR: kde-base/kdemultimedia-3.1.4-r1 failed.
!!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 137, Exitcode 2
!!! died running emake, kde_src_compile:make

Seems to be a simple matter of using the wrong automake.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

*sigh*. I guess i shouldn't rely on my thinking that upstream problems have
been taking care of.

Please try the new ebuild (I just committed it) and resolve this bug if it
fixes the problems.

Thanks.
Comment 2 Martin Ehmsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-19 15:15:39 UTC
I compiles fine now. Bug fixed.

I get the same when compiling kdemultimedia-3.1.3-r1

Comment 4 Sven Wehner 2003-09-20 09:29:53 UTC
Renat Golubchyk:
"I get the same when compiling kdemultimedia-3.1.3-r1"

Add this to /usr/portage/kde-base/kdemultimedia/kdemultimedia-3.1.3-r1.ebuild
<--- snip --->
src_unpack()
{
        kde_src_unpack
        cd ${S} && aclocal
}
<--- snap --->

Had the same problem with this and kdebindings 3.1.3...

So KDE-Team: Pls, do a aclocal with every (!) KDE-Package.
Comment 5 Collins Richey 2003-09-20 17:42:59 UTC
identical error occurs with kdemultimedia-3.1.3-r1. If you need my emerge info, see bugzilla 29203.
Comment 6 Tom Felker 2003-09-20 22:34:55 UTC
I had the same problem as Renat (comment #3), and Sven's patch (#4) fixed it. Thanks. Hope this gets committed.
Comment 7 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-21 15:09:25 UTC
Okay, this bug is fixed in portage (and for 3.1.3-r1 too)
Comment 8 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-25 13:15:21 UTC
fixed.
