Hello. I'm upgrading sqlite. My download hanged when it was almost finished (probably the connection problem occured). Then the download restarted. I didn't continue, but started from beginning. The strange thing was that the target file was not replaced with new one, but it continued to grow! The error message the portage gave to me: ------------------------------------------------------------ ('Filesize does not match recorded size', 4843900L, 2892345) !!! Fetched file: sqlite-3.6.18.tar.gz VERIFY FAILED! !!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size !!! Got: 4843900 !!! Expected: 2892345 Refetching... File renamed to '/usr/portage/distfiles/sqlite-3.6.18.tar.gz._checksum_failure_.MNlyPC' ------------------------------------------------------------ P.S. I didn't change portage default fetch command. And I never notice such behaviour from previous versions of wget. Reproducible: Didn't try

Are you able to reproduce this bug, where wget messes up when trying to finish downloading a partial file? Or was it just a one-time problem?
I tried to simulate the disconnect when the file was almost finished. With no success though. The file continued to be downloaded from the place it was interrupted. Probably that means, I don't know the exact reason of such wget behaviour that occured when the bug appeared. It seems to me that there was wget internal error, that forced wget to restart downloading from beginning. But I don't know how to simulate this.
Well, you could post your 'emerge --info' output and we could assign this to wget maintainers, but progress is unlikely until problem can be reproduced...

That file changed, emerge --sync and re-fetch should work.
