Description dan blum 2009-10-31 04:03:13 UTC
I have a functioning KDE operting system. Today I downloaded Firefox, which required me to set the X flag to work. 8 different packages were downloaded, I believe one was the X operting system.

When I start firefox, the colors are off and the screen is difficult to read. The status bar and any other operating programs turn to the same color scheme which is difficult to read. If I focus on another program, all programs turn normal, including firefox. The color schemes turn wrong if I refocus back on firefox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start firefox
2.Focus on firefox window
3.

One additional comment. There seems to be two separate x11 set up files. Also, Opera, which used to work previously, does not work any more, not sure if related to same problem; window will not open. Konqueror is the only working browser on the system.

Please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log, because this sounds like it could be an X configuration issue rather than a firefox problem. If your X has too low color depth, you might have used up all your colors for KDE colormap resulting in weird colors for non-KDE applications.
