Description Paul Gover 2009-10-30 16:30:15 UTC
Thanks for unmasking KDE 4.3.1!
Full of enthusiasm, I pretended to upgrade my world (with kdepim-meta 3.10 or so). First attempt barfed because it wanted USE="sql", so I added that globally. Now it barfs because qt-sql wants mysql, even though I already have sqlite.

I suspect the DEPENDS string "[sqlite, mysql]" was expected to mean one or t'other, but the ebuild docs says it means both, which looks overkill :-)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.see above
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Calculating dependencies ... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy ">=x11-libs/qt-sql-4.5.0:4[sqlite,mysql]".
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- x11-libs/qt-sql-4.5.3 (Change USE: +mysql)
(dependency required by "app-office/akonadi-server-1.2.1" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "kde-base/kdepimlibs-4.3.1" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "kde-base/knotes-4.3.1" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "kde-base/kdepim-meta-4.3.1" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "world" [argument])

Expected Results:
kdepim installed using sqlite

Well pick one of those. in akonadi-server you have to pick implementation for backend.

Mysql one can be relyable, sqlite is experimental.

Just add to your /etc/portage/package.use line saying something like this:
app-office/akonadi-server -mysql sqlite

if you really really want sqlite.

Reopen with "emerge -pvDt world" as attachment if it still wants to pull in mysql.

Output of emerge -pvDt world

After putting app-office/akonadi-server -mysql sqlite and re-emerging akonadi-server, qt-sql still pulls in mysql.

Sure, because you have USE="mysql" enabled for x11-libs/qt-sql.

[nomerge ] x11-libs/qt-sql-4.5.3 USE="iconv mysql qt3support sqlite (-aqua) -debug (-firebird) -odbc -pch -postgres" [0]
