After updating syslog-ng from 2.0.4 to current 3.0.4 I had to comment out an option within /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf : ts_format(iso); #frac_digits(3) to get syslog-ng up and running. What exactly is the problem? Looks like you had some stuff in /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf that is only valid for the old version. It's your responsibility to fix the configuration. Maybe the maintainer wants to add a post-install message, that changes to the configuration might be necessary.
