The current stable net-misc/sobby-0.3.0 needs net-libs/net6-1.2 , net-libs/obby-0.3 and that versions are not in portage and can't compile with the current versions of both packages. As a bonus thing, there are no open bugs for net-misc/sobby-0.4.5 and has been in tree since November 2008. Thanks

My bad, you are hitting bug #271989 , which is fixed in >=net6-1.3.9 , so net-libs/net6-1.3.9 should be stabilized before net-misc/sobby-0.4.5
