Description Nick Malakhov 2009-10-29 08:45:04 UTC
!!! The following installed packages are masked:
- kde-misc/yakuake-2.8.1-r1 (masked by: package.mask)
/usr/portage/profiles/package.mask:
# Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> (28 Oct 2009)
# KDE3-only applications.
#
# Removed in 30 days.
#
# If you find a KDE4 replacement, please open a
# request at http://bugs.gentoo.org/

Please, don't remove yakuake. It was already ported to kde 4 and there is an ebuild for it in portage tree (kde-misc/yakuake-2.9.6)

Also, I don't understand why we need to remove kde-3 only applications at all. I don't want to switch to kde-4 this year.

yakuake 2.9.6 (KDE4 version) is not masked, only the KDE3 versions are.

and kde3 won't be in portage anymore after this year.
