Comment 3 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-10-29 08:06:52 UTC
1) please update your kernel to the latest current ~arch gentoo-sources
2) please add (as a built-in driver) the i915 DRM driver.

(your log says that the drm device cannot be opened so let's try to fix that first)

Thanks
Comment 4 koenigrollo 2009-10-31 09:22:29 UTC
After I've enabled the i915 driver as a module in the latest stable kernel (2.6.30-gentoo-r8), I have no problem anymore to see the above-quoted website.
Also the xv-issue <a href="http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290948">(bug 290948)</a> is now solved.

Tested with 2.6.30-gentoo-r8 and works fine for:
xf86-video-intel-2.9.1
xf86-video-intel-2.8.1

Thanks for the help
