Trying to update my system this morning, I've discovered this conflict, see below. Oh, please, try not to break users systems, don't mask an application until the replacement is unmasked (when it exists). p.s. wasn't there a plan to support KDE3 for about half a year after unmasking KDE4? - it seems to me a bit strange, not to include KDE4 for nearly two years and now getting rid of KDE3 apps in about two months ... KDE4 still doesn't have for example the burning application ready, koffice 2 is still masked ~amd64 ... kika ~ # emerge -av1 rsibreak These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "kde-misc/rsibreak" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - kde-misc/rsibreak-0.10 (masked by: ~amd64 keyword) - kde-misc/rsibreak-0.8.0-r1 (masked by: package.mask) /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask: # Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> (28 Oct 2009) # KDE3-only applications. # # Removed in 30 days. # # If you find a KDE4 replacement, please open a # request at http://bugs.gentoo.org/ For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. Reproducible: Always
