the 9.9 ati drivers only work with 2.6.31 kernels and later.  9.8 ati drivers do not work with 2.6.31, please fix the dependencies. furthermore for anyone wanting creative x-fi xfi titanium fatal1ty pro support, it works with 2.6.32, little glitchy.

how is that possible. 9.9 works exactly fine at least with 2.6.29 which is kernel i tested it on, actualy the code is full of ifdefs so i am sure it will work with anything newer than 2.6.20.

wierd... it wouldn't work for me. everything is fine now though.  maybe it's only 2.6.30 it failed on. i got a hard reboot everytime.
