Hi arches, x11-libs/libgksu-2.0.12 has been in tree since 20 Jul 2009. Please do your magic, target keywords are: alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 sh sparc x86 Thanks in advance
amd64/x86 stable
This package has a bug...request moving to unstable branch. Emerging this will result in gksu saying - "sudo: sorry, a password is required to run sudo
How do you run or configure it? Sorry, I never use sudo :-S, I checked that it works fine for running gdmsetup and launching gnome-terminal, but I use "su" "mode"
Seems related with: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=540176 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gksu/+bug/394261 but I am not sure if it's a regression :-/, I am going to look at ubuntu package
Created attachment 209356 [details, diff] 01_revert_forkpty.patch Can any of you try attached patch? It's being applied by ubuntu for: * debian/patches/01_revert_forkpty.patch: - revert the upstream change to run sudo in a forkpty() environment, this is incompatible with our default sudo tty_tickets configuration Seems that a configure option has been added by upstream for being able to choose proper option on each distribution, but it will come in next release
"How do you run or configure it? Sorry, I never use sudo :-S, I checked that it works fine for running gdmsetup and launching gnome-terminal, but I use "su" "mode"" Configure gksu?...I know sudoers but no configuration for gksu...it's just a front end to sudo how can it have a configuration? The problem lies with gksu only. I'm using xfce and xfce terminal with xdm. Using libgksu-2.0.9 resolves the issue.

"Have you tried to apply attached patch to libgksu-2.0.12?" No...I think that patch should be in the repository. I'll try.
The patch will be added if it really solves this bug ;-)
ppc stable
How do you apply this patch...sorry, I'm not a developer.
Copy the patch into /usr/portage/x11-libs/libgksu/files and add another epatch line for it to the ebuild. Then run "ebuild libgksu-2.0.12.ebuild manifest" from the directory (as root). Then just emerge it. Note, this will go away next time you sync, but that's fine for testing it.
Issue resolves when patch applied. So please add this to the portage tree so I can sync safely. And aa...there're not security issues right?
Stable for HPPA.
aaa...Can someone acknowledge if it has been merged with the main portage tree?
ppc64 done
Stable on alpha.
