I noticed that this head thing is corrected in the 1.1.3 ebuild, how come its not fixed in 1.1.4? Couldn't this be tested before being merged into the portage tree?
Comment 2 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-19 07:59:22 UTC
Because KDE was *supposed* to have this issue fixed upstream, but they missed
it.

And since the "head -1" problem only breaks on some users machines (I am not
one of them) it doesn't get noticed by everyone. This is why it's still
marked ~x86 - to find problems like this.

Anyway, I readded this fix to the ebuild.
