Description Alex Walker 2002-05-22 03:15:08 UTC
I have compiled my system with gcc-3.1 and when I unmerged gcc-2.95, I was left
with no install-info command as used by emerge.

a `qpkg -l gcc` does not list install-info. Whereas when gcc-2.95 was
installed, it belonged to that package.

I also have this problem. I have a gcc-3.0.4 system that I upgraded to gcc-3.1
and then unmerged gcc-3.0.4. *boom* No install-info. A check of my other Gentoo
machine (which uses gcc-2.95) shows that it should be part of gcc-2.95 (and
presumably gcc-3.0.4), but as with the other reporter I can see that qpkg -l gcc
does not list install-info as part of gcc-3.1.

this was an issue with using texinfo included in gcc, now texinfo and gcc are
separate packages, this is a non-issue
