I'm using oss4, thus I don't want to install any alsa-packages. Phonon-kde-4.3 has an alsa-dependency. After removing phonon-kde-4.3 still compiled fine and played all system sounds. I suggest to make alsa optional in the ebuild.

Nothing new since 3 weeks?

I can confirm this.
Please make alsa optional. Works quite nice without alsa installed.

It's fixed since 4.3.5, closing.
