Description Christoph Niethammer 2009-10-24 07:05:03 UTC
app-office/gnucash-2.2.9-r1 does not depend on media-sound/esound though it requires libesd.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install gnucash under KDE environment without esd useflag and media-app/esound installed.

Actual Results:
Build process exits with error in link step.

Expected Results:
Ebuild should include esound as dependence.

Grepping though the sources shows absolutely no reference to esd except in a valgrind warning suppresser file.

I believe the following happened to you:
 * you tried removing esound from your system or it was autoremoved by a depclean
 * esd sneaks everywhere in la files on the gnome libs
 * seeing a first build failure with a la file, you think it'll be fixed by lafilefixer

To get rid of this problem, you will have to rebuild all libraries still refering to esd, grepping through la files in /usr/lib/ for "-lesd" should give you a start.
