The configure script included with app-text/docbook2X-0.8.8 is buggy and breaks badly with the ebuild-supplied program-transform-name when CONFIG_SHELL is dash. The result is a script /usr/bin/^A.pl, without any errors during the installation.

Running eautoreconf with autoconf 2.63 installed makes the installation work properly. I'll attach the bad build log.

I have no idea how to actually reproduce this, so please feel free to fix - seems like a non-intrusive fix.

The easiest way to reproduce this was:

emerge dash
ln -sf dash /bin/sh
CONFIG_SHELL=/bin/sh emerge docbook2X
