Hello, I have been hearing a lot on #gentoo and have even checked myself. It seems like at least the 2 big mirrors (ibiblio and OSU) have been missing amd64 current stage3 for some days now. It seems to have an amd64 hardened stage3 from 15 October but that's it. Some newbies are inadvertently installing the hardened stage3 or attempting to install the ia64 stage3. Some people are giving up on installing entirely or going to competitor's stage3's. Anyway just thought you should know. Also, and this is probably a seperate bug, but I've also heard reports that the Handbook says that the LiveDVD contains a stage3 tarball when it does not. This is either a bug in the documentation or the media. Thank you, Albert Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: I'm going to set this as a blocker as I consider it so PR-wise.
There was a build failure on the non-hardened amd64 stages for the 20091015 build, but the hardened stages built fine. If you look at the following URL for the previous week, there are non-hardened stage3 tarballs: http://gentoo.osuosl.org/releases/amd64/autobuilds/20091008/ robbat2, perhaps the script that creates the current-stage3 symlink can be modified to ignore files with hardened in the name?
Symlinks and contents .txts updated to exclude considering hardened from being latest candidates. Should be on the mirrors in an hour or 3. marduk: per the livedvd item, please file that as a seperate bug.
