GCC 3.x isn't supported anymore, but perhaps hardened@ is intrested...
Comment 2 Gordon Malm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-10-20 06:41:01 UTC
OP: gcc-4.3.4 is stable on hardened - http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-hardened/msg_bc73e13380fcad0c682047dd5cb029e3.xml

voip herd: libnice's build system shouldn't be trying to use -Wno-missing-field-initializers on GCCs that don't support it.
Comment 3 Ben Mellor 2009-10-21 01:05:20 UTC
I have encountered this issue also, as I'm forced to use gcc-3.4.6 by some non-portage software.

If the answer to "foo doesn't work and I have gcc-3.*" is "you shouldn't be using gcc-3.*", should it not be marked unstable?
Comment 4 Honza 2009-10-30 13:27:55 UTC
Will there be any problems using libnice compiled with gcc-4.2.4 with pidgin compiled using gcc-3.4.6 ?
Comment 5 Olivier Crete (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-10-30 14:53:39 UTC

No, it will just work..
Comment 6 Olivier Crete (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-04-12 05:33:50 UTC
upstream is aware of the issue... for now.. just use a reasonable recent compiler
