Might be a bit against upstream, maybe… but would it be possible to split that file into different aliases files?

Yesterday I was finally pissed off by a website that appeared with a tremendously stupid font, and noticed that instead of falling back to DejaVu Book (which is my serif choice), it stopped at Times, using the Nimbus font (which I very much dislike).

Now, I have no doubt that sometimes it's needed to have the proper font, but I sincerely would prefer not having Nimbus used anywhere… at the same time I guess some people really want Liberation fonts… right now one either have to accept both, none, or edit the file manually. Maybe splitting would be a good idea?

Thanks,
Diego

There are various ways around this, such as uninstalling fonts you dislike, disabling 30-metric-aliases.conf, writing your own override, etc.
