this week.

It was a long week :D.

Sent an email.

Removed rsync1.us access temporarily. Emailed contact. Waiting for
mirror to be reestablished.
Comment 4 Yves Younan 2003-11-24 02:03:22 UTC
The mirror was temporarily limited to 1 connection because of the massive amount of CPU that rsync uses, we were seeing loads of 10+. As the machine was used for other stuff we decided to temporarily limit it till we could move it to a new machine.
The mirror has finally been moved to a new machine and thus a new ip: 134.184.49.5.
I had both of them running (and was planning to do so during the change over) but since access to rsync1.us has been removed, I'll shut down the mirror on 134.184.49.11.
134.184.49.5 is now syncing with rsync2.be.gentoo.org instead of 134.184.49.11, I will set it to rsync1.us as soon as access is restored.

(I was told to reopen this bug but I don't have access to do that).

Sorry, didn't know you wouldn't be able to reopen it. Glad to hear
its working again.

I've reenabled access to rsync1.us, so let me know when you're syncing
with it again. If I can get a few hours of monitoring in today, I'll
put it back in rotation before I go on vacation.

Thanks.

Well it was always working, just limited :)

I did a complete sync (from scratch), and have the crontab set to rsync1.us again...
Comment 7 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-12-02 06:35:27 UTC
The mirror (rsync1.be) is ready to be added. Let me know when you get the motd
updated.

Thanks.
Comment 8 Yves Younan 2003-12-02 06:52:33 UTC
What's wrong with the current motd? It's about the same as the previous one: ip, contact information and location...
Comment 9 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-12-02 07:00:58 UTC
The correct IP is 134.184.49.5? This is all I'm seeing:

# rsync -avz rsync1.be.gentoo.org::

gentoo-x86-portage Gentoo Linux Portage tree
gentoo-portage Gentoo Linux Portage tree mirror
Comment 10 Yves Younan 2003-12-02 07:24:55 UTC
Had a typo in the config file, the path to the motd is correct now :)
Comment 11 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-12-05 10:06:36 UTC
Mirror is back in the .be and .europe rotations.
Comment 12 Yves Younan 2003-12-16 03:19:41 UTC
The new machine seems to be doing fine; as soon as you're ready to readd the rest of the mirrors back to main rotation (I only see 7 in there now), you are welcome to add rsync1.be too.
Comment 13 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-12-17 06:23:40 UTC
Done.
