Description Nick Currier 2009-10-18 05:50:54 UTC
"no suitable font was found" error message displayed after upgrade to kde4.3. Emacs refused to start in X. The --no-windows option still worked correctly. Re-emerged media-fonts/font-misc-misc, first error went away and emacs would start with gui but intial startup fonts were not rendered and all subsequent attemps to change the font were met with error messages... This just occurred and emacs is frequently used. Attempted to resolve the bug with some web searching but I think something is getting hammered in the ebuilds or a dependency is messed up somewhere. Any ideas?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emacs
2. bad fonts
3.

Actual Results:
Blocks rendered representing missing font characters.

Expected Results:
Default display screen with menus...

-march=athlon 64, -O2, kwin-4.3.1, nothing extraordinary here folks.

This thing just fixed itself... Looks like the issue was either in openmotif or kdelibs.. must've been a transient state in the portage tree.. Sorry to bother.

Reopening for proper closing.
