Description Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2009-10-16 22:24:12 UTC
Updating the stable gcc on amd64 from gcc-4.3.2-r2? to gcc-4.3.4 leads to the following messages:

>>> Completed installing gcc-4.3.4 into /var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/gcc-4.3.4/image/

 * If you intend to use the gcc from the new profile in an already
 * running shell, please remember to do:

 *   # source /etc/profile

 * If you have issues with packages unable to locate libstdc++.la,
 * then try running 'fix_libtool_files.sh' on the old gcc versions.

gcc seems to be installed fine, though. ???

PS. Opening a separate bug since the quoted one refers to the ancient gcc-3.xxx

toolchain, what say ye?
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2009-10-22 00:19:43 UTC
i wouldnt be surprised if there were a desync in the upgrade process. none of the errors posted are fatal though and can be safely ignored.
Comment 4 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2009-12-20 19:11:52 UTC
partially fixed here:
http://sources.gentoo.org/eclass/toolchain.eclass?r1=1.414&r2=1.415

the rest should be addressed in gcc-config-1.5
