I see the crash log has some system info, but please post 'emerge --info' output as well because it has additional information.
Comment 3 Christophe Philemotte 2009-10-26 13:49:50 UTC
Below the "emerge --info", sorry to have forgotten.

crash log obtained with test case

I've found the reason of this crash:
http://icedtea.classpath.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=367

So, it is due to the hard link to libjpeg.so. Indeed, I can reproduce the error with the test case provided by http://icedtea.classpath.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=267 (see the attachment).

Normally, the revision http://icedtea.classpath.org/hg/icedtea6/rev/b862917f2b93 resolved this bug.
Comment 5 Christophe Philemotte 2009-11-05 12:54:11 UTC
the ebuild dev-java/icedtea6-1.6.1-r1 from the java-overlay corrects this bug.
Comment 6 Stefan Behte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev Security 2010-11-22 18:36:18 UTC
BTW: It hangs with sun-jdk-1.6.0.22 directly at the start. The window is rendered, but never filled with content.
Comment 7 James Le Cuirot gentoo-dev 2016-03-01 21:55:59 UTC
Based on the comments above, I'm going to chalk this up to JVM issues that have long since been fixed. Closing.
